About Ramada by Wyndham Udaipur Resort and Spa: A Mewar Hillside Resort

Our Story

Built in the Language of the Aravalli Hills

Spread over 6.6 acres of undulating hillside near Fateh Sagar Lake in Udaipur, Ramada by Wyndham Udaipur Resort and Spa sits on ground that rises about 40 m from its lowest point to its highest.

The architecture answers that slope. It follows the traditional building language of the hills around the city, and we built it in locally available Kaya stone, which helps to regulate the temperature indoors.

The corridors are laid in Udaipur Green Marble, Agariya White Marble, and Jaisalmer Yellow Marble, a mosaic that reflects the traditional architecture of Mewar. Building this way generates employment for traditional craftspersons.

The Layout

Everything Turns Towards the Central Courtyard

A central courtyard with a large swimming pool sits at the heart of the resort. All 4 room categories and the restaurants are arranged around it, and 3 lawns step up the hillside at different levels.

Deluxe and Super Deluxe Rooms share one wing, open to natural ventilation. Premium Rooms and Suites face them from villa-like clusters on the opposite side. Thick walls and high ceilings keep every room naturally cool.

From the upper levels the view takes in Sajjangarh Fort (Monsoon Palace), the City Palace, the Aravalli Hills, and the lakes Fateh Sagar and Pichola. You can see how the rooms are laid out on our rooms and suites page.
